More Billboards than Sales: A Cautionary Tale
There's a new player in town, and he's been making quite the splash. We won't name names, but let's just say that there's a certain realtor out there who's been trying to make a name for himself in Rochester. We'll call him "Billboard Boy" for the sake of this fictitious story.
Billboard Boy has been annoying the entire town with his flashy billboards, plastered all over the place. "List with me!" they shout, "I'm the best!" But here's the thing: he might have more billboards than he does actual home sales.
In fact, according to the latest data, Billboard Boy's home sales in Olmsted County last year were... wait for it... ALMOST NOTHING. Nada. Meanwhile, the rest of us hard-working realtors have been putting in the hours, making deals, and actually helping people find homes.
Now, we're not saying that billboards are a bad idea. They can certainly be eye-catching, and there's no harm in a little self-promotion. But when you're all talk and no action, well, that's when things start to get a little ridiculous.
So here's a word of caution to all you aspiring realtors out there: don't be like Billboard Boy. Instead, put in the work. Build relationships. Help your clients find the homes of their dreams. And if you must put up billboards, make sure they're backed up by actual sales.
Because at the end of the day, it's not about the billboards. It's about the people you're helping. And we here at White Coat Homes are proud to say that we're doing just that. So if you're looking for a realtor who's more than just a pretty billboard, give us a call. We'd be happy to help you find your next home.
